Newcomers Service

The Newcomers Service supports people with a migrant history to find orientation in Hamburg. We offer general advice on a wide range of topics from recognition to the search for a dentist.

About Us

We offer general counseling for migrant people and people interested in moving to Hamburg. We provide support and advice on a wide range of topics as well as guidance on how and where to find the right office or contact person for your concern.


Our Services

You can get free general information for newcomers and brochures on the following topics:

  • House hunting
  • Work and tax matters
  • Family 
  • Childcare and school
  • Studying
  • Health and insurance 
  • state-funded benefits
  • Culture, leisure and more

In addition, we offer you an initial orientation regarding the recognition of your foreign professional or educational qualifications.

You are also free to use our information service on the website of the Hamburg Welcome Center, where you will find important tips and advice on all central topics relevant for settling in.
