Riding a bike

The best way to get around Hamburg is by bike. There are many well signposted cycle paths to explore the city or the surrounding area.

Hamburg is a bicycle-friendly city with many wide avenues, cycle paths and parks. These are ideal conditions for using your bike for leisure trips or travelling to work. To park your bicycle safely, you can use the new Bike+Ride facilities at railway stations or special bicycle parking spaces.

You can find detailed information on leisure, everyday and local cycle routes at www.hamburg.de/radtour (in German). You can also use the cycle route planner for Hamburg (in German).

Are you travelling in the city and want to switch to a bike for a short distance or rent a bike for a spontaneous bike tour? No problem! Register with StadtRAD Hamburg and hire a bike at over 200 stations. The first half hour is free of charge.
